The Night Before the Chief Minister Watched
The call came from Satish Sir at 6 pm in with no warning and even less time. The Ashmi production house needed a film ready — not next week, not in a few days, but by 10 AM the next morning. The audience? The Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
There was no room to breathe. No room for a second draft, a client review call, a “let’s revisit this scene tomorrow.” Tomorrow was the deadline.
What followed was one long night at Memotion Studio — raw footage loaded, timeline open, clock running. Every cut had to count. Every decision — what stays, what goes, where the story breathes and where it moves — had to be made fast, and had to be right the first time. This wasn’t a film with the luxury of “we’ll fix it in the next round.” There was no next round.
Hour by hour, the footage turned into a story. Rough became refined. Refined became ready. By the time the sun came up, what had been scattered clips the night before was now a complete, polished film — built for one of the highest-stakes screenings a production team can face.
At 10 AM, the film played. The room watched. And the feedback that came back wasn’t polite applause — it was genuine, unreserved appreciation.
